Sew Studio is a mobile learn-to-sew studio teaching kids, teens & adults the art of sewing and design. Our programs are designed to build confidence and inspire creativity. Classes range from beginner to intermediate level. We offer special topics workshops, private lessons, scout FUN badges and kids camps. Our studio supplies you with everything you need to learn and no experience is necessary. Let us show you what you can make with a needle and thread!

Our Mission

To teach the art of modern sewing.  To inspire all generations to make with their hands, to disconnect from media and connect more with their craft. To connect with others face-to-face and share the joy of creating something unique and handmade. To make something that fits your body. To master new and useful skills. To get creative and have fun!

Our Machines

We love our EverSewn sewing machines and you will too! With the modern maker in mind, they have been designed for children and adults alike to learn on. Their features give students the confidence to explore new skills at their own pace and are a true delight to work on. They are easy enough for the beginner but also boast advanced features that allow to continuously master new sewing techniques. We carry all six Sparrow series sewing, quilting and embroidery machines.

Our machines have been designed for beginners both adults and children, giving students the confidence to explore new skills at their own pace.

Our Methods

We keep class sizes small - 6 students per sewing class so each student can learn at their own pace with lots of one on one instruction. This is true for both adult and kids classes.

Kids learn from projects and patterns designed for their age group. Our programs help to nurture skills like reading, comprehension, and math all while strengthening manual dexterity and fine motor movement. Students see the importance of following directions carefully and completing projects from beginning to end. Our process enables students to build confidence quickly as they learn.

For adult classes, students also take their time mastering sewing skills by learning how to do it right the first time. While students are introduced to both commercial sewing patterns and patterns made by independent designers, we mostly represent and use indie sewing patterns. Indie sewing patterns are designed thoughtfully and have instructions that are easier to read and comprehend. Indie patterns are designed to fit our modern bodies better.

Busy Hands = Happy Brain. When we perform activities that our brains think of as life-sustaining —like providing shelter, making food, or creating clothing — our bodies release chemicals in the nervous system called dopamine and serotonin, which make us feel good.
